AMY BLOOM, author of White Houses (2018), has written two New York Times best-sellers and three collections of short stories, a children’s book and a ground-breaking collection of essays. She’s been a nominee for both the National Book Award and the National Book Critics Circle Award. Her stories have appeared in various anthologies including Best American Short Stories, Prize Stories: The O. Henry Awards. She has written for The New Yorker, The New York Times Magazine, The Atlantic Monthly, among many other publications. Her work has been translated into fifteen languages.

KATE WALBERT is the author of the novels His Favorites, The Sunken Cathedral, A Short History of Women, chosen by The New York Times Book Review as one of the ten best books of 2009; Our Kind, a finalist for the National Book Award, and The Gardens of Kyoto, as well as the most recently published collection of short stories, She Was Like That, one of The New York Times 100 Notable Books of 2019.  She’s a recipient of numerous fellowships, including the National Endowment for the Arts fiction fellowship.  Her stories have been published in The New Yorker, The Paris Review, The Best American Short Stories and The O. Henry Prize stories.
