CONNECTIONS & REFLECTIONS

AZAR BEHJATI

I am a film photographer and use gelatin silver process to print. I describe myself as primarily a street photographer. I like to capture specific moments when shapes, movements and light interact with each other in unsuspecting and somewhat surreal ways. I use no manipulations in my prints and the image reflects precisely what was observed in the viewfinder.

I reside in Easton, Connecticut.

ALICE LAURENSON

I have always been curious and interested in meeting people from, and in, faraway places. I am fascinated with people’s faces - and with the connections that develop with perfect strangers. Early on I learned that we don’t need to speak the same language to communicate and connect. As I traveled the world I was struck by the connection of our common needs, humanity -- and kindness.

For this collection, I’ve chosen people in Asia, Africa and South America, captured in a moment in an ordinary day, working, playing, living their daily lives.
