Aaron Kurzen Art Show
June 01, 2014 4:00 pm - June 28, 2014 5:00 pm
Keyes Gallery at WWML
Aaron Kurzen, now 94 years old, can look back on a career spanning over 60 years, both as a teacher at the Dalton School in New York and as an artist in his own right. He first came to Stony Creek about 50 years ago and began the long and arduous task of constructing his home and studio, fabricated from an old disassembled Quonset hut, and sited on a marshy piece of woodland. He lived there seasonally at first, and then he and his wife moved in full time about 20 years ago.
The collection of Mr. Kurzen’s work is impossible to pigeonhole, being delightfully diverse, often whimsical, and definitely quirky. The exhibit will include a wide-ranging selection of his drawings, portraits, oil paintings, sculptures, posters, and assemblages.
